Indican joins Maulið

Valgeir Gunnlaugsson is one of the owners of the Indian restaurant Indican. Valli, as he has always been called, has been involved in the restaurant business for some time. He was previously associated with the pizza place Flatbakan, which was very popular. He had been in the pizza business for a long time and founded Flatbakan in 2015.
“I have always had an interest in cooking and started early by helping my mom in the kitchen at home,” he says.
However, his interest turned to other areas within the restaurant industry, and he set out to revive Indican, which has been a hit in Maulurum.
“It was time for me to try something new. I was craving a greater challenge,” says Valli.
At Indican, the emphasis is on Indian cuisine. The menu is simple and the focus is on quick service.
“That is really the only sensible approach today, considering how the industry is developing. Especially in restaurants in food halls.”
Valli says that Indican builds its menu so that it is easy to adapt most dishes to special requests. So it is no problem to make any dish gluten-free, vegan, or keto. According to him, by far the most popular dish is Butter chicken.

,,Indian food is just so good. I thought it was so important to keep this simple, good, and work with first-class ingredients.”
Valli first opened Indican at Hagamel, in Úlfarsfell. He says the reception has been very good.
,,This is a key location and we hope that residents of Vesturbær and our neighbors are simply happy with our arrival on Hagamel,” he says, but now Indican has also opened in Mathöllin Borg29.
We hope that Maularar benefit from Indican’s addition to the service.

In the coming weeks, the Maul blog will make a true comeback. We will interview restaurateurs and customers, as well as introduce new restaurants and menu innovations. Please follow along to get a closer look at the service, what is on offer, and the various fun and interesting sides of Maul.
